Ravenswood School #437
This school district formed initially in the RM of Elm River. The school was built in 1886 on
NE 4-7-6w next to the Almassippi post office. It is said to have been named after a raven that landed on the building during construction. In early days, classes were not held in winter. In 1890, the district became part of the RM of Dufferin. The district was dissolved in 1918 and students were transferred to Graysville.
No vestige of the school remains at the site but a metal sign erected by the Carman/Dufferin Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee commemorates it.
