Brigden school was built in 1887 on the homestead of George Brigden.

In 1910, the district consolidated with McKinley School No. 1462 to become the Brigdenley School District. Century Methodist Church was purchased and moved to SW 17-6-3w to serve as the new school. The school was a special project of the Sir Rodmond Roblin chapter of the I.O.D.E. and, under Lady Roblin’s leadership, was presented in the 1930s with books and equipment. The school district was dissolved in 1965 and consolidated with Carman. The building was sold by auction in 1969 and torn down.
