Cemeteries: Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian & Roman Catholic Cemetery
In 1919, the local Ukrainian community purchased three acres of land at the junction of Highways #240 and #305 on SW 27-7-8w. In June, 1921, Dufferin Council granted permission for a Greek Catholic (Ukrainian) church and cemetery at the site. They also set aside land for a one-acre Roman Catholic cemetery on the same quarter-section.The cemeteries were originally separated by a fence which has since been removed. The cemeteries can be distinguished by the predominantly Polish names in the Roman Catholic section to the north and by the Ukrainian names and designs on grave markers in the south. The church at this site has since been closed, however both cemeteries remain active. A cairn commemorates the presence in the area of a vibrant local Ukrainian/Polish community.
